Understanding proxy latency and uptime

Latency and uptime affect how quickly a request completes and whether a workflow can keep running. Measuring both gives you a clearer view than either number alone.

Latency is the time to respond

Distance, carrier routing, target response time, and connection load all influence latency. Compare locations against the same target and request type.

Uptime is availability over time

Track successful connections across a useful window instead of judging a proxy from one request. Separate provider issues from target-side blocks and application errors.

Build a practical fallback

Use more than one location or proxy type when the workflow matters. Retry carefully, preserve sticky sessions where needed, and record failures for troubleshooting.
