Research teams
Market research from the customer’s perspective
Observe public websites and search results from the markets you are studying, then compare those journeys in your research notes.
Who this is for
Insights, strategy, and research teams who need comparable public-web observations by country — not a survey panel or interview platform.
Compare markets with a controlled viewpoint
Move past a single office IP and collect the same journey from each target location using standard proxy credentials.
Research quality
Local customer experience
See language, assortment, and offers as they appear in-market.
Fewer geography blind spots
Catch content that is hidden or rewritten outside your home network.
Repeatable protocol
Save location, timestamp, and steps so a colleague can rerun the same observation.
What you can control
Regional observation
Set the dashboard location before you start the journey.
Session continuity
Sticky sessions keep a multi-step browse on one IP.
Tooling you already have
Browsers, note templates, and scripts all accept the same proxy URL.
Research tasks
Assortment checks
Compare which products are listed in each market.
Competitor positioning
Capture public messaging and pricing pages by country.
Search and journey tests
Run the same query or click path from each location.
Recommended setup
Mobile
Mobile IPs often match how consumers browse. Use residential if you need a broader pool. Datacenter is a fallback for simple public pages.
Sessions
Sticky for a full journey. Rotate when you start a new market or a new independent sample.
Location
One location per cell in your research matrix. Do not switch location mid-journey.
Before you start
- A research question and a fixed journey (URLs or click path).
- The list of markets to compare.
- A Premip plan with those locations.
- A template for notes: location, steps, screenshots, and unexpected differences.
How to run a comparable market study
Hold the journey constant. Change only the proxy location between cells.
Step 1
Write the protocol
List the starting URL, search queries, and pages to capture. Freeze this list before the first market so results stay comparable.
Step 2
Provision the proxy
Create an account, pick a plan, and open credentials on the proxy detail page.
Step 3
Set the first market
Choose the location in the dashboard. Record the location name in your notes before you browse.
Step 4
Point the research browser or script at the proxy
Use http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT. Disable VPN extensions that would override the proxy.
Step 5
Run the journey once
Follow the protocol without improvising. Save screenshots or HTML at each required step.
Step 6
Keep the session through the journey
Stay sticky so cookies and IP do not change mid-path. When the journey ends, stop.
Step 7
Switch market and repeat
Change only the dashboard location (or use a second proxy). Run the same protocol. Tag files with the market name.
Step 8
Synthesize differences
Compare assortment, price, language, and friction. Bring findings into your research readout.

- What kind of research can this support?
- Public web research: prices, availability, search results, content, and regional customer journeys.
- Do I need a custom integration?
- No. Standard proxy endpoints work with browsers and common research scripts.
- Can I compare cities as well as countries?
- Yes, when that city targeting is available on the selected proxy product and plan.
- Is this a panel or survey tool?
- No. You observe public pages. Recruiting respondents is outside Premip.
