Proxy setup

How to set up Premip proxies in Selenium

Selenium should use the same Premip endpoint as curl. Configure the proxy on the WebDriver, then load one URL before a full crawl.

HTTP proxy on the driver

For Chrome, pass --proxy-server=http://HOST:PORT. If the browser prompts for auth, use an extension or a client that supports proxy user flags for your driver version.

Prefer proving curl first

If curl fails, Selenium will fail too. Fix credentials at the curl layer.

Sessions

One WebDriver instance should keep a sticky Premip session for a single browse path. Start a new driver after you rotate the IP.

Instructions

  1. 1. Verify with curl

Use the canary command from the cURL guide.

  2. 2. Launch one driver

Open a single page through the proxy and read the public IP in the page or via a check URL.

  3. 3. Keep one job per session

Do not rotate in the dashboard while the driver is mid-navigation.

Chrome proxy server flag
Replace USERNAME, PASSWORD, HOST, and PORT with values from your dashboard.
chrome --proxy-server="http://HOST:PORT"
# Supply USERNAME and PASSWORD with your WebDriver auth method
