Sticky sessions vs rotation
Session policy is part of the job design. The proxy product does not choose for you — you do, based on whether continuity or a fresh exit matters.
Sticky sessions
Append -session-your_id to your proxy username (same password). The same session id keeps the same exit IP for the lifetime you set on the proxy (5m, 30m, 1h, or until you rotate). You can also send X-Premip-Session on HTTP proxy requests.
Rotation
Rotate from the dashboard or proxy detail page when the next batch should leave from a new IP. Credentials do not change.
Do not rotate mid-request
Finish or fail the current request, then rotate. Mid-flight rotation makes logs and retries harder to explain.
Instructions
1. Write the policy on the job
Note sticky vs rotate next to the spider or script name.
2. Run one full journey sticky
Confirm the flow completes before you introduce rotation.
3. Rotate between batches
After the batch, use Rotate IP, then start the next independent set.
